Library Borrowing for Local Community Members

Lightner Library offers borrowing privileges to local community members for a small annual fee. Here’s how it works:

Pay the annual fee at the Student Accounts/Business Office in Ball Hall:
- $25 per person
- $35 per couple
Bring your receipt to Lightner Library.
See a librarian (not a student worker) to complete your registration.

Membership is valid for one year from your registration date.

Borrow up to 5 items (books, DVDs, CDs) from the circulating collection.
Loan period: 5 weeks (some items may circulate for a shorter time).
In-library use only: reference books, periodicals, entertainment DVDs, reserve items, and leisure reading books.
Printing, copying, and interlibrary loan services are not included.

Please note: Items may be recalled if needed by Keuka College students or faculty.

No daily fines for overdue items.
Courtesy reminders are sent by email before and after the due date.
After 4 weeks overdue, unreturned items will be billed at the replacement cost plus a $25 processing fee per item.
Processing fees remain even if items are later returned.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended or cancelled if items are not returned or fees remain unpaid.
