Lightner Library offers borrowing privileges to local community members for a small annual fee. Here’s how it works:
How to Register
- Pay the annual fee at the Student Accounts/Business Office in Ball Hall:
- $25 per person
- $35 per couple
- Bring your receipt to Lightner Library.
- See a librarian (not a student worker) to complete your registration.
Membership is valid for one year from your registration date.
Borrowing Privileges
- Borrow up to 5 items (books, DVDs, CDs) from the circulating collection.
- Loan period: 5 weeks (some items may circulate for a shorter time).
- In-library use only: reference books, periodicals, entertainment DVDs, reserve items, and leisure reading books.
- Printing, copying, and interlibrary loan services are not included.
Please note: Items may be recalled if needed by Keuka College students or faculty.
Overdue & Replacement Policy
- No daily fines for overdue items.
- Courtesy reminders are sent by email before and after the due date.
- After 4 weeks overdue, unreturned items will be billed at the replacement cost plus a $25 processing fee per item.
- Processing fees remain even if items are later returned.
- Borrowing privileges will be suspended or cancelled if items are not returned or fees remain unpaid.
